This GPR Protection system detects imminent lightning GPR and pre-emptively disconnects the commercial power circuit to isolate the ground fault path to the power neutral system. Operations safely continue on the resident battery plant until the threat passes; then commercial power is automatically reconnected.
Simultaneously disconnecting the phase and neutral conductors preserves the system integrity; and the safety ground is always maintained. AC disconnection simply blocks the potential fault path through the site electronics.
Opening the AC circuit effectively creates a single point ground condition. The site ground potential rises and falls with the Ground Potential Rise, but fault current can not flow through an open circuit. The only low impedance path to ground for the fault energy is the grounding system.

Remote Manager provides remote test, monitoring and control over an Ethernet data network or POTS line. Protection parameters can be remotely tested and adjusted, system and event status are continuously updated and logged, event history may be down loaded, and the resident battery plant and generator can be remotely tested.
