Alset Corporation is advancing the technology of
pre-emptive isolation for the protection of outside plant electronics.

What problem are we solving? Most electrical damage to OSP electrical sites in rural locations is now attributed to Ground Potential Rise (GPR) from remote downed power lines and lightning strikes.  GPR can propagate severe fault current for miles over the multi-grounded neutral system – the commercial power ground, telecom shield and highly resistant earth that provide an integrated conductive medium for GPR fault current.  A distant KV transmission fault or a MV lightning strike can readily produce a 250V elevation on the master ground bar of a telecom site.  That’s all it take to fire the ground wires on the telecom protectors, creating a fault path through the electronics to the lower potential reference on the commercial power neutral and ground.

Alset’s products augment surge protection and grounding systems to provide the most effective safeguard against GPR fault currents.  The result is higher service reliability and significantly lower maintenance costs.

Isolation protection typically pays for itself one lightning storm.  Alset Corporation is committed to providing high value, intelligent protection systems with competent customer service.
